If you enjoy British humour you will enjoy these nineteen chapters about funny situations of friends one summer.

I read this on a Mediterranean cruise---it was in the ship's library along with other "sea/ship" related books. I read all of them and had a thoroughly wonderful time!

Not a bad little book, it certainly raised a few smiles as I read it. It's very different from a lot of other books I've read from this period.

The humour of three men in a boat borders on the slapstick and whilst genuinely amusing became a bit too predictable at times. I found the interspersement of the travel tales between the anecdotes didn't work for me as you cut from the very light hearted to an almost Lonely Planet style commentary. Having said this, I think this is a book that I need to reread again - I suspect there is much that I missed.

It is a humorous take on travel, with some of the most witty sentences I have read of the 19th century literature. Jerome was, of course, a genius when it came to word composition, as is evident from this comedy novel.
