I want to give this 4.5 stars, it’s not quite a 5, but… I really did love this book. I wanted to slap Charles and shake him into reality, but this isn’t about whether I like him or not. The authors ability to showcase obsession is excellent. I found myself relating to Charles’ feelings well up to the point where his narcism takes things too far, and to where I’d have given up and moved on with my life. If this had been written from the point of view of his love interest it could have been a horror, but shown from Charles’ viewpoint we get to see how his terrible choices are formed and I almost felt sorry for him. Almost…!

I know this was great, and in parts it was mesmerizing....but I did not love it. Maybe too dark? Maybe too icky?
