A bit clunky for a classic. First chapter: dust. Second chapter: turtle.
L'engle believes story communicates the divine. And it is clear in her fiction.
This bold indictment of the American Dream remains relevant in a day and age in which security and wealth are worshiped as gods. All the money in the world cannot make one happy, and Fitzgerald proves it here, elegantly.
